Leaps and Bounds

Couple new things for Zoey these past couple weeks since she became 1 year old.

She's completely off the bottle now and happily drinking whole milk from her sippy cups.  Last Saturday she drank from a straw for the first time (I let her have some sips of my Jamba Juice).

On Thursday she got her first skinned knee from playing outside (Ms. Chris said she wasn't even upset about it and kept right on playing).

She's finally doing more sign language with us (though in her own interpretations).  For several weeks now she has recognized birds, either the live ones in a cage at daycare or pictures in a book.  She open and closes all her fingers on her hand for "bird" (the sign is actually opening and closing your fore finger and thumb like a bird's beak).  That was her only consistent sign until recently.  Now she raises her hands upward and outward to indicate she's all done eating (instead of throwing all her food on to the floor).  Today she successfully signed "more" when she ate lunch and dinner!  I *think* she also signed "water" to me too.

She's sporting all the new threads she got for her birthday.  Zoey is just the cutest thing in her little shorts and tanks!

If you can't tell, I'm sooo proud of my little angel ;)  Thanks for listening!

Happy 1st Birthday, Zoey!

Happy 1st Birthday, Zoey!

Zoey Andrea Wingler is now 1 year old!  She had a lovely birthday party filled with family and friends.  Thank you, everyone, for making this such a special day.  We had a feast of Rudy's BBQ and desserts.  Afterward, Zoey got her own "slice" of cake decorated to look like a watermelon.

She was a bit confused at first.  We have a great video of us singing "Happy Birthday" and her slowly enjoying her cake.  She definitely got the hang of eating it.  Even as I was cleaning her up, she was grabbing for icing and shoving it in her mouth.

Zoey has a mountain of new clothes and toys for a "big girl".  She had an excellent time playing with balloons, bubbles, and her little cousins.

Happy Birthday, my little angel!
