First Month in the New Year

Zoey has had a wonderful first January.  She's got 2 teeth, has learned to pull herself up to standing, and just yesterday Shawn told me that she even got up and stood all by herself for a brief moment!

Unfortunately she also recently got bronchiolitis and a double ear infection.  She's been on breathing treatments and antibiotics, but that doesn't get her down.  She's always very upbeat and happy.

Zoey is thoroughly enjoying all the toys and books she got for Christmas.  She'll sit in our laps and look at her stories with us.  Yesterday I bought her some wood blocks.  Her she is improving Daddy's design.

We're looking forward to the rest of 2010 with our little girl!

These booties were made for walkin...

Last weekend Zoey learned how to pull herself up to standing!  Jeez, we haven't fully prepared the house for crawling yet, now we have to make sure there's nothing she can pull.  She's been grabbing things off the top of the coffee table and playing with the kitchen chairs!  I finally got her some cool shoes recommended by Miss Chris at Serendipity:

Zoey's getting better grip with these on while playing on the hardwood floors.  Walking, here we come!

We've got crawling!

This evening Shawn and I witnessed Zoey crawl on her hands and knees for several iterations to go pet Anubis (our Siamese cat)!  It was unbearably cute because she was in full fleece PJs and was trying to get across our hard-wood floors.  Her knees kept sliding so she had this tiny shuffle of a crawl!

Oh and I learned that the tooth that's "erupting" is her bottom left central incisor.

She's literally growing right before our eyes!

Christmas & New Year's!!!

Zoey's first Christmas was amazing.  She spent lots of time with mommy, daddy, and much of her extended family.  Now that she's crawling and sitting up better, she enjoyed all the attention and opening her many, many presents.  She especially liked all the bows and playing with Copper (her Nana and Granddad's dog).

After Christmas we let her wear her cat costume as pajamas.  She loves her new toys.

She had so much fun visiting with her daddy's extended family this weekend.

What a great holiday break.  We watched Zoey learn so many new things.  When on all fours, she extends her legs so she looks like she's about to do a push-up.  She's trying to clap but always needs a partner to make sound.  If you hold out your hand to her, she'll slap it.  If she tries by herself, she usually has her left palm open but her right hand in a fist.  We think she'll get it soon.  She seems to also do a flapping sort of wave to someone she wants to hail.  Daddy noticed her bottom left tooth is coming in!  Zoey is also very talkative.  Sometimes she'll even sing a little song to herself ... I can't describe it, but it's funny!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
We may need another holiday break just to recuperate!
