Zoey the Actress
Zoey has been exploring the world of "pretend" and "make believe". She is enjoying playing with her toys and talking out loud (mostly in gibberish) about what she's doing. She likes to talk on her toy phones but I'm never sure who's on the other end. The funniest play she's doing lately is grabbing my nose and pretending to pop it into her mouth. We make a long game of us chasing her as she giggles without moving her lips. We ask her to "spit it out!" and we have to pretend pick it up from wherever she chooses to do so. She's also been spitting them up into the air and pretends to catch them. The most pathetic pretend play she does now is pretending to sob. The other day I didn't let her do something (can't remember what), so she proceeded to "cry". She sat down on the floor and moped. Then she laid down on her belly, face down, and sobbed. If you had walked in at this moment, you'd think she'd lost her best friend in the whole wide world. But watching the entire thing was quite a hoot. No tears, just well-rehearsed sounding sobs. Not sure where she picked this up, but it's a good thing Momma is not impressed.
